The Black Knight: Chapter 2

The King lead Jackson over to a great hall. It was filled with people and the table was set. The king looked at Jackson and said, “You better eat some food before we practice tonight.” He smiled and gestured toward the table, which servants were putting food on. Jackson grinned as he watched The servants pile rolls onto a plate. There was chicken, and beef, and pasta and pizza and bread and cheese and lampchops, and wings, and steak, and sandwiches, and potatoes, and vegetables and salads and shrimps, and sausages, and many, many other foods. Jackson had never seem so many food on one table in his life. The king said, “Go ahead, Sit down, Enjoy yourself!” Jackson was just about to sit down when he overheard someone saying something to someone else. “Hey, did you see the new soldier, over there? He will never find out why he is here. Ha ha ha!” Jackson looked around. Should he ask them what they mean? He thought better of it and decided to keep it to himself. He sat down next to another boy about his age. The boy looked at him and said, “Oh, hello! You must be the newest soldier. I’m new myself here too. I came here earlier today, I can’t wait to practice. What’s your favorite food?” Jackson looked at him and said, “Hmm… that’s a really hard question. I like a lot of foods, I’d say there are all my favorite.” The other boy said, “well, I like Sweet Potato’s. Some people say that sweet potatoes taste weird, but I like them. By the way, what’s your name? My name is Loki. Some people say it’s a weird name.” Jackson said, “it’s not weird. I think all names are good. My name is Jackson.” Loki picked up a piece of Sweet Potato and said, “cool. We should start eating before it’s all gone.” So, Jackson helped himself to some steak, with rice, and potatoes, and some pizza, and corn. When he was finished eating, he had seconds, and thirds, and fourths. When he was finally finished, we said, “Wow. That food was so delicious. I’m so full.” Loki laughed, “Yeah, there’s something about this food, it’s so good! But, don’t get too full, desserts coming!” On que, servants came out with plates of Cake, Jelly, Chocolate, Pudding, Tarta, Cream, doughnuts, Pie, and way more desserts. Jackson and Loki ate until they were stuffed. They were too full and tired to go practice, but the king said, “come on! We must practice, my loyal pawns. We must learn how to checkmate the opponent!” So, Jackson, Loki, and a few other Boys there age followed the king outside into a field. The king said, “welcome my fellow pawns. Opinion our fight against the white king, we must practice movement, on the battlefield, you can only move forward one space. Except on your first move, you can move two spaces. you must always listen to me, your king for movement plans. Does everyone understand?” Everyone looked at each other confused a little. “Yes King.” They all said in unison. “Good. I can’t wait to see how you do.” Said the king. “For now, we practice, one day at a time.”
